Iraqi Canadian artist Huda Al-Hamami, who performs under the name Ebril (pronounced “ehh-breel”), quietly released her debut album In Copula earlier this year after years of honing her craft at home in Hamilton, Ontario.

In July 2025, the opening track “Stranger in You” took on a life of its own and surpassed 1 billion views on TikTok. In Copula takes listeners on a journey from dusk to dawn, drawing from a wide range of genres, including folk, ambient, and shoegaze. Ebril weaves songs together with field recordings of nature taken from outside her bedroom window in Hamilton, Ontario and sounds captured from the streets of her childhood home city Amman, Jordan.
